The Man Behind Our Storefront’s Vintage Décor
The opening of our brand new J. Hoffman Lumber Company storefront is quickly approaching! We are thrilled to share all of the hard work we’ve done over the course of this past year with you, commercial professionals, homeowners, craftsmen, and woodworkers.
Among the samples of our reclaimed and urban wood and line of handcrafted stock items will also be vintage home décor for sale. By including this décor in the same place you can purchase the other needed materials for your projects, we’re streamlining the process of finding the perfect finishing touches and accent pieces for your space.
Kevin Hanley of State Street Salvage is excited to contribute his domestic and imported artifacts to our storefront. To help our clients better understand what’s to come, we took a moment to sit down with him and learn more about his unique pieces.
What types of artifacts can clients expect to find at the J. Hoffman Lumber Company storefront?
Artifacts which clients can expect to see at the storefront will be unusual pieces of industry from days gone by. From cast iron machine table bases to factory window frames re-purposed to use as mirrors. Hoffman Lumber Company supplies reclaimed and urban wood for table tops, as well as the flooring and paneling displayed at the store.
Where do you find the artifacts?
State Street Salvage Company has developed a network of like minded collectors that contact us with items they find which fit into our vision for our clients. In addition, items are often discovered and recovered while we are in buildings that are being demolished, or while taking scrap metal to the junkyard.
What is your favorite part about the pieces you sell?
The favorite part for me is about the pieces we have reworked; turning something old and forgotten into something unusual and beautiful, and then explaining it to our clients and watching how they react to it.
